SPLIT PEA
1 qt. stock made from 1 Ib. bacon Bones or a small piece of pork
8 0z. split peas
1/2 cup diced carrot
1/2 cup diced turnip
salt and pepper
Bring the stock to the boil, then add the split peas, which have-been washed. Now add the diced-carrot, turnip, and chopped onion. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and simmer for 2 hours. Serves 4-6
